Billie J. Bennett

	Billie J. Bennett, age 76, of Elkville, died in the VA Medical Center Nursing Home in Marion on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 10:40 p.m.
	Billie was born in Pomona on December 28, 1928 the son of William T. and Amanda (Williams) Bennett.  He married Martha Marcille Miller on December 31, 1949 in Oceola, Ark. and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1986.  Billie was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.  He worked at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale as a building custodian and enjoyed working with his livestock on his farm.
	Survivors include a daughter, Pam Dickerson and husband Gary of Du Quoin; and a son, Bryan L. Bennett and wife Debbie of Herrin;  four grandchildren, Krystal Bennett, Kimberly Bennett, Nikki Sizemore and husband Shane, and Landon Cucchi; one great-grandson, Gage Sizemore and three sisters, Vera Donnelson of Eugene, Ore., Genevieve Heitzman of Eugene, Ore. and Imogene Olmsted of Christopher.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and three sisters.
	Funeral services will be held at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home in Du Quoin on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda.
	Visitation will be held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Du Quoin on Monday, January 31, 2005 from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m.
	Memorials may be made to the VA Medical Center Nursing Home in Marion.
